ARC Fleet Services have a vacancy for a part-time credit controller/purchase ledger assistant based at our Greenock head office.
You will play a key role in managing our debtors and assist the company accountant to maintain an accurate purchase ledger.
This role requires a proactive and assertive individual who thrives in a team environment and is flexible in their approach to work with good customer service, negotiation and administration skills.
The successful candidate will likely have the following responsibilities:
— Collect debts by telephone, letter or email to ensure customers adhere to agreed terms.
— Investigate disputed items and ensure these are followed up by the relevant department.
— Maintain records of unresolved disputes and highlight these to senior management.
— Manage problem accounts through targeted use of credit limits, suspension of credit, and liaison with external agencies.
— Collate cash and cheques for banking and post entries on the computer system.
— Provide progress updates to the management and directors of cash collected and action taken.
— Produce reports for the monthly credit control meeting with the directors and managers.
— Ensure the accuracy of the computer system by reconciling accounts, recording activities and follow up actions, updating customer details and opening new accounts.
— As well as the above, the successful candidate will be required to assist in the smooth running of our
administration service. These responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
— Invoice processing and all associated administration activity
— Assist with the production of accurate monthly accounts, providing management with key performance and other management information
Proven track record of working within a credit control environment, and the position is open to candidates who are looking for a full-time or part-time position.
Candidates must be proficient in the use of Sage 50, Microsoft office, Word and Excel.
